I would disagree at this point with the idea that Jerusalem is the prophetic Babylon spoken of in scripture. She certainly won't face an eternal desolation, as she is quite near the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ at this point in time. So it must be another city...a city that fits all the descriptions of Revelation 18. One city jumps out as a prime candidate...one where you sail past the welcome sign of entering the city of Babylon (New York that is) as you sail into her harbor...one that certainly fits the descriptions of Revelation 18. Is this certain? I can't say that. But is it likely? I think so...
