This Islamic Terrorist Left Jihad for Jesus

Stacy Long AFA – Charisma News
"Many people in Islamic countries, especially young Muslims, are exhausted and overwhelmed. They are tired. They want to take shelter in a peaceful belief. But if you do not have peace with God, you will not be able to have peace with others, no matter how much you would love to. So, with Christianity, there is an open door for us to touch the hearts of millions of Muslims all over the world." -Daniel Shayesteh
EBOLA STORY"Many times I cried, 'Allah, I want to kill Christians, I want to kill Jews.' We planned a lot of things, evil things for the Christian world, cruel things for the Jewish world. ...It is by the grace of God that I am here." (Photo via Charisma News)
So begins the testimony of Daniel Shayesteh, formerly an Islamic terrorist and Iranian revolutionary; now a Christian evangelist.

"I was a famous boy," Shayesteh recalls. "By the age of 9, I was able to do Islamic rituals and recite the Quran."

Picked out from the 12 children of his father's two wives to do Islamic studies from his earliest years, Shayesteh's fame carried him to a position of power among Islamic extremists. With two others he founded Hezbollah, in its earliest days as the revolutionary army in Iran. The army overthrew Mohammed Reza Shah, the king of Iran, in the Islamic Revolution of 1979, and Shayesteh became a political leader helping to institute the rule of Sharia law.

It didn't take long, however, for Shayesteh and other revolutionaries to become dissatisfied with Ayatollah Khomeini, the man they had brought into power to be the country's "Supreme Leader." After Shayesteh's colleague, Abolhassan Beni Sadr, was elected president in 1980, tensions escalated, and in 1989 Khomeini used his influence with Hezbollah to form a military coup against the government with the intent of killing the president. President Sadr and others in his political camp were able to escape the country alive, but Shayesteh was not among them. He was captured and put in prison, which he describes as "a painful place, a place where you beg to die." Even as he waited in a cell on death row, expecting to be executed, God providentially stepped in.

"By the grace of Jesus, I escaped," he says. "Even though I didn't know Him, He had a plan for me."
In an unbelievable and difficult escape, Shayesteh made it to Turkey, where he continued to seek a channel of influence. He enrolled in a university and obtained a doctorate in international management with a thesis on how religions, cultures and philosophies impact the human attitude. Even as he formulated that thesis, the conclusions that forced themselves into his mind startled and unsettled him.

British soldiers seek psychiatric treatment after taking "zombie drug"

© Reuters / Nigel Roddis
The British military is accused of failing to protect its soldier's mental health. Figures show nearly 1,000 have sought psychiatric treatment after being given the MoD's budget price anti-malarial drug Lariam.

A Freedom of Information (FoI) request revealed the figure is much higher than previously thought, with 994 service personnel being admitted to mental health clinics or psychiatric hospitals since 2008.

The figures only go back to 2007, so the true number may be much higher, as Lariam, also known as mefloquine, has been in use for much longer.

The MoD has consistently defended the drug, which is one of several it issues to troops, amid concerns that Lariam is contributing to an Armed Forces mental health epidemic. This is despite growing pressure from senior military figures, campaigners and relatives of those affected.

The drug, banned by US Special Forces two years ago, and which the UK military avoids giving to pilots or divers, is still issued to UK troops.

Its use continues despite evidence linking the anti-malarial to the 2012 Panjwai Massacre, in which a US soldier slaughtered 17 Afghan civilians after taking the drug.

Sergeant Robert Bales has since been sentenced to life imprisonment.

In an internal report, Roche, the drug's manufacturer, described the killings as an "adverse event."

Roche themselves have conceded that the side effects can include "hallucinations, psychosis, suicide, suicidal thoughts and self-endangering behavior" and may induce "serious neuropsychiatric disorders."

The figures come as it was revealed a retired British general, who took the drug during service, is currently in a secure psychiatric unit.

Derek Gilbert interviews Tom Horn on the Pope, Isis, and the Path of the Immortals

I think it's important to remember that the "Islamic State" seems to actually be a bunch of mercenaries paid and guided by NATO countries (U.S.A., England, Turkey) along with Saudi Arabia.  However there is no doubt just how much carnage a group of well-funded mercenaries can carry out....

In this made for tv broadcast, SkyWatch news anchor Derek Gilbert interviews Tom Horn on a range of current issues involving the Islamic state and why they are doing what they are doing, their apocalyptic plans, plus how Pope Francis and America could be playing right into their hands. Also whether Pope Francis believes he is the final pope on St. Malachy's list of popes, the secrets of Fatima and more.

Artificial Intelligence Is About To Take A Big Leap Thanks To IBM (Who Played Such An ‘Important’ Role During The Nazi Reign)

  by
transhuman-revolution

Artificial intelligence is not yet at the point where it can challenge the intellect of a human being, but that day might be closer than you think. Recent advances are transforming this technology into something that inspires both awe and fear into the general population. One company that has been working for some time to bring the controversial technology to the next level is called Numenta and was founded by Jeff Hawkins. Those names might not ring a bell to most since Numenta hasn’t made much progress in recent years, but that may very well change soon thanks to a bold new plan. Hawkins says that he wants to create artificial intelligence software based on the human brain and he now has IBM backing up the project.

The tech giant recently put together a team of 100 people to work together with Numenta at its Almaden research lab in San Jose, California. The group is currently known as the Cortical Learning Center and is attempting to bring artificial intelligence to the next level with the help of Jeff Hawkins. The plan involves building advanced pieces of software with algorithms that mimic the neural network found inside our own brains. The software will not be able to learn as fast as an actual brain since the algorithms are the equivalent of only about 100 neurons, but many are already calling this one of the most advanced machine learning program to date. What separates Numenta’s project from other artificial intelligence software is its ability to learn new things much faster than most of its counterparts.

Thomas Charles and Welsh Revival

Thomas Charles of Bala is famed as a key organizer of the British and
Foreign Bible Society. However, his work was far more extensive than
that. Converted under the preaching of Daniel Rowland, he went on to
study at Oxford University and became a deacon in the Church of England
in 1778 and a priest in 1780. Although he had strong sympathies with the
Methodists, he never wished to leave the Church in which he was
ordained. Others drove him out.

231 years ago, on April 18, 1784, he was dismissed from his curacy
because of his Methodist sympathies and methods. This was actually a
blessing. Charles' wife was a competent business woman, so was able to
devote himself to evangelizing and educating in North Wales. He led a
revival there, instituted a large number of religious schools and
produced a good deal of religious material in the Welsh language,
including a Bible dictionary.Eventually pressure from the established
church forced him to declare his chapels places of non-conformist
worship. Up till then he had insisted on retaining Anglican forms and
ordaining preachers within the Church of England.

His efforts to print the Bible in Welsh were spurred by a stirring
incident. A teenager, Mary Jones, saved her money and walked 25 miles to
purchase a Bible. Charles had only one copy on hand, and it was promised
to someone else. He gave her that copy and appealed for backing to print
more.

ISIS Camp Operating a Few Miles From Texas Border is Confirmed by Mexican Authorities

To the east of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, cartel-backed "coyotes" are smuggling ISIS terrorists through the porous border between Acala and Fort Hancock, Texas.
(Mexico) - ISIS is operating a camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas, according to Judicial Watch sources that include a Mexican Army field grade officer and a Mexican Federal Police Inspector. (Photo via popular military)
The exact location where the terrorist group has established its base is around eight miles from the U.S. border in an area known as "Anapra" situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Another ISIS cell to the west of Ciudad Juárez, in Puerto Palomas, targets the New Mexico towns of Columbus and Deming for easy access to the United States, the same knowledgeable sources confirm.

During the course of a joint operation last week, Mexican Army and federal law enforcement officials discovered documents in Arabic and Urdu, as well as "plans" of Fort Bliss - the sprawling military installation that houses the US Army's 1st Armored Division. Muslim prayer rugs were recovered with the documents during the operation.

Law enforcement and intelligence sources report the area around Anapra is dominated by the Vicente Carrillo Fuentes Cartel ("Juárez Cartel"), La Línea (the enforcement arm of the cartel) and the Barrio Azteca (a gang originally formed in the jails of El Paso). Cartel control of the Anapra area make it an extremely dangerous and hostile operating environment for Mexican Army and Federal Police operations.

According to these same sources, "coyotes" engaged in human smuggling - and working for Juárez Cartel - help move ISIS terrorists through the desert and across the border between Santa Teresa and Sunland Park, New Mexico. To the east of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, cartel-backed "coyotes" are also smuggling ISIS terrorists through the porous border between Acala and Fort Hancock, Texas. These specific areas were targeted for exploitation by ISIS because of their understaffed municipal and county police forces, and the relative safe-havens the areas provide for the unchecked large-scale drug smuggling that was already ongoing.

Mexican intelligence sources report that ISIS intends to exploit the railways and airport facilities in the vicinity of Santa Teresa, NM (a US port-of-entry). The sources also say that ISIS has "spotters" located in the East Potrillo Mountains of New Mexico (largely managed by the Bureau of Land Management) to assist with terrorist border crossing operations. ISIS is conducting reconnaissance of regional universities; the White Sands Missile Range; government facilities in Alamogordo, NM; Ft. Bliss; and the electrical power facilities near Anapra and Chaparral, NM.

Pelagius I, Controversial Nominee for Pope

Pelagius I, Controversial Nominee for Pope For almost ten months, following the death of Vigilius in June of 555, the Western church was without a Pope. On March 3, 556, Pelagius, a Roman of a noble and wealthy family, was chosen to succeed him. The old man's elevation to the papal throne on this date, April 16, 556 was marred by irregularity. Three bishops were needed for his confirmation, but only two were willing to serve; they were aided by a priest representing of the Bishop of Ostia.

After his elevation and before the crowd in the old St. Peter's Basilica built by Constantine, Pelagius affirmed the decisions of the first four ecumenical councils. Then, with cross and Gospel in his hands, he astounded the crowd by assuring them that he had nothing to do with the death of any man. What was this all about? Pelagius was referring to the death of his predecessor, Pope Vigilius, whom he had once branded as a turncoat for first rejecting and then siding with Justinian's opposition to the Three Chapters.

The Three Chapters were three subjects condemned by the Emperor in an edict of 543-4: They were 1. The person and works of Theodore of Mopsuestia, 2. The writings of Theodoret against Cyril of Alexandria and 3. The letter of Ibas of Edessa to Maris. All contained statements with Nestorian leanings. Justinian hoped by this act to appease his Monophysite subjects (those who deny that Jesus is two persons in one). The Eastern bishops signed Justinian's anathemas under protest, but the west was even more reluctant to accept them. Justinian arrested a leading opponent named Vigilius in 545 and detained him in Sicily. Later Justinian brought Vigilius to Constantinople where for a long time he stuck to his position, even excommunicating Patriarch Menas, who returned the favor.

Vigilius finally wearied of the fight, accepted the Three Chapters decision, and was nominated for pope by Justinian. As pope, Vigilius was one of the leaders of the Fifth Ecumenical Council, held in 553 at Constantinople, which condemned the Three Chapters. It was attended by 165 fathers of the church. Vigilius' flip-flopping after having taken such a definite stand made him unpopular in the west. When he died there was suspicion of foul play. That is why Pelagius felt he had to defend himself at his election.

Pelagius inherited some of the strife that marked Vigilius' career. When he agreed to accept the council's decision, the sees of Aquileia and Milan renounced communion with him.

However, before his death in 561, he accomplished much good by relieving poverty and starvation, ransoming prisoners of war and overhauling the papal finances. He was buried in St. Peter's.

Note: this Pelagius is not the same Pelagius for whom the so-called "Pelagianism heresy" was named and which was condemned at the third Ecumenical Council, held in Ephesus in 431).

The Armenian Genocide - Turkey Guilty With Crimes Of Genocide

While this may close a period of time remembering a century of denial by Turkey of the massacre of what's often called the first Christian nation, Armenia, I believe those who suffered and died did not do so in vain, they will be remembered, and one day, when a more perfect Judge has come, justice will be done...

This is the most complete explanation of the how and why of the genocide that I have been able to find.  Excellent background and insight into what occurred beginning in 1915.

CERN: Unlocking the Gates of Hades

The primary purpose of occult practices is to open doorways, portals to other dimensions, inviting in beings with particular powers and hopefully controlling those powers for your own purposes.  Of course the controlling part usually fails in the end, but very smart people attempt to do this every day.  Now CERN is using the Hadron Collider to force open a doorway, to physically pound open a doorway, and apparently Shiva, god of Death and Destruction, is the ultimate symbol of what they hope to accomplish...

Right now I almost can see in my mind, a bunch of ATSers jumping in their chairs, in front of the computer and saying “Oh no, another weirdo going nuts about the LHC…” Well, just my two cents that, after read what I’m sharing here, some of you, guys, will stop thinking that the purpose of that gigantic device, is to reproduce the primordial spark of the big-bang and start to figure out what REALLY may be scheduled by this project.
To make my point, I refer you to William Henry’s article, “Discerning the God Particle”. http://www.williamhenry.net/art_dis-cerning.html). If the LHC is or not is a stargate machine, I’ll start talking about another very suspicious object, well known of the ancient Egyptians and that may have had the same purpose of the collider: The Ta-Wer, that means “The Eldest Land”, but is dubbed the “The Osiris Device” by Henry. According to mainstream scholars, the Ta-Wer was a only a mystic symbol that has represented the connection between Abydos and some mythical place in the underworld, interpreted as the “Land of the Dead”.
According to Henry, the Ta-Wer depicted in some paintings, in the walls of Abydos temple, is a structure that could be part of a huge device that activated dimensional portals, stargates or wormholes.
Well, it’s a common sense among UFO researchers that the Ta-Wer depicted in some paintings, in the walls of Abydos temple, is a structure that could be part of a huge device that activated dimensional portals, stargates or wormholes.

Yeah, now is the time where people here are saying “You gotta be kidding. It’s a boat that has represented the crossing between life and death…” Indeed the scholars have alleged that the boat-like object seen in that painting, was the so called “Boat of Million Years”, used by Ra to travel across the underworld. Is it, really, just a boat??

Above you see a model of cosmic wormhole, that matches with the theory of Kurt Gödel, that due the fact that nothing can travel faster than light, a “shortcut” could be open in certain coordinates of the space, to connect two distant points. A huge amount of energy would produce a huge amount of gravitation that could “bend” the space, forming two light cones interconnected by a space-time tunnel where matter could pass.

Putin And The Russian Government Ban Internet Pornography

Once again, I find myself realizing that the President of my country, the U.S.A., would never consider such a move, while the President of Russia has no problem with this.  If actions speak louder than words, which leader show more character and morality?

By Theodore Shoebat
The Russian government under Putin just put a ban on internet pornography, just another indication as to the Christian influence that is dominating Russian society (and rightfully so). According to the report:
A Russian court has instructed Roskomnadzor, the country’s state-controlled Internet watchdog, to block 136 websites hosting “pornographic material” under the terms of international conventions signed in 1910 and 1923. Vague language in the ruling, first reported by the newspaper Izvestia, means all Internet pornography could soon be illegal in Russia.

The ruling comes after a district attorney in Tartarstan’s Apastovksy district cited the regulations put in place in the early 20th Century in Czarist Russia and then the USSR, respectively. All of the websites on the list, including some of the most frequently visited in the world, must be blocked within the next three days, Global Voices Online reported.
The court banned the illegal distribution of pornography, though it failed to precisely define what “legal distribution” of pornography is, meaning millions of other Russian pornography websites could soon be knocked offline as well.

This restriction on Internet activity is just the latest example of Internet crackdowns in Russia since Vladimir Putin returned to the presidency in 2012. The Kremlin recently enacted a “law on bloggers” that forces popular online writers to register their home address with the government, offers a bounty for anyone able to crack the increasingly popular Tor anonymity software and is forcing Western technology companies to collect and provide information on Russian Internet users.

The Vatican Top Exorcist States That We Are Now In The End Times, And That The Beast Of Revelation “Is Working Furiously.”

By Theodore Shoebat

The top exorcist for the Vatican, Father Gabriele Amorth, said that we are now living in the End Times, and that the Beast of Revelation “is working ferociously.” According to the report:
In a recent Facebook post, well-known Roman exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth said the Islamic State (ISIS) “is Satan,” also questioning the lack of response from Western nations.

“ISIS is Satan. Things first happen in the spiritual realms, then they are made concrete on this earth,” he said in an April 8 post on the social media website.
Father Amorth continued, “there are only two spiritual realms: The Holy Spirit and the demonic spirit.”

He said the demonic enters in “because evil is disguised in various ways: political, religious, cultural, and it has one source of inspiration: the devil. As a Christian I fight the beast spiritually.”

“The political world, which today seems to lack a response in face of the massacre of Christians, will also have to fight ISIS and it will do it in a different way. If it advances as it seems to be doing, we ask ourselves what has the West done over the course of the last decades.”
The priest, who founded the International Association of Exorcists, explained that Satan “keeps saying that the world is in his power, and what he says is true. Biblically speaking we are in the last days and the beast is working furiously.”

ISIS took control of the largest Christian city in Iraq, Qaraqosh, in August last year, causing tens of thousands of people to flee.

The terrorist group has persecuted and murdered Christians and other religious minorities in parts of Syria and Iraq.

Fr. Amorth, age 90, has performed over 70,000 exorcisms during the past 29 years. The number is so high because carrying out an exorcism can require multiple sessions and each time the rite is administered it is counted as one instance.

Fr. Amorth has previously spoken about the danger posed by people no longer believing in the devil, as well as a shortage of exorcists.

While Titanic Sank, John Harper Preached

While Titanic Sank, John Harper Preached The clear April night sky was filled with sparkling stars as the largest and finest steamship in the world sped through the calm seas of the icy North Atlantic. Many of the passengers had gone to bed, but some still could be found in the lounges, enjoying the Titanic's luxury. No one was alarmed by the slight jar felt around 11:15, but many noticed when they no longer felt the vibrations of the engines.

Ignoring iceberg warnings, the Titanic had been steaming full speed ahead. Suddenly she struck a large iceberg which ripped her side. Within fifteen minutes the captain realized the danger of the situation, and the wireless operator put out a call for assistance. Sailors made lifeboats ready and ordered women and children to get into them first (Christian culture had stamped the ideas of chivalry into men, making them willing to give up their lives for women and children as their protectors, something rarely seen in other cultures). There were 12 honeymooning couples on board the ship. Though all of the brides were saved, only one of the grooms survived.

The captain ordered the band to play to keep up the spirits of the passengers. It began playing a rag-time tune, but soon was playing hymns.

There were only twenty lifeboats on the huge ocean liner-- barely enough for 1/3 of the passengers and crew. Not all of them could be lowered. All 85 engineers continued to work to keep the ship afloat as long as possible. At the end many people knelt together in prayer until the waters covered them.

Throughout the mournful, evacuation, with loved ones being tearfully separated, the band continued to play. There is some dispute about what was played that night. Several people in the life boats heard "Nearer My God to Thee."

One of the passengers traveling on the ship was evangelist John Harper. He put his six-year old daughter into a life boat and then ran through the ship warning others of the danger and talking to them about the eternal destiny of their souls. When he was finally forced to jump into the icy water, he clung to a piece of wreckage and asked another man "Are you saved?" When the man answered no, John said to him, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."

When the Titanic sank early in the morning on this day, April 15, 1912, John Harper was among the 1,522 people who died. The band went down with the ship. The last hymn they played was "Autumn," which concludes with the prayer
Hold me up in mighty waters
Keep my eyes on things above,
Righteousness, divine Atonement,
Peace, and everlasting Love.

Office of Naval Intelligence: “China preparing for short, sharp war with Japan.”

This has been building since the 1930's....it would seem to be inevitable at this point...
Submitted by IWB

In a controversial address to the West 2014 Naval Institute Symposium in San Diego in early 2014, Capt. James Fanell, formerly Chief of Naval Intelligence for the Pacific Fleet said: “We have witnessed a massive and amphibious military enterprise and concluded that the People’s Liberation Army has been given a new task, to conduct a short, sharp war to destroy Japanese forces in the East China Sea, following with what can only be expected a seizure of the Senkaku, or even an island in the southern Ryukyu.”

Capt. Fanell’s reward for delivering this timely information?

Being removed from office, because his announcement “embarrassed China.”

Holy hell.

“Fanell also had harsh words to describe actions of China’s Coast Guard, which he calls a “fulltime maritime harassment service” [lmao, so true] specifically designed to advance China’s strategic interests in the East and South China Seas…It is perhaps ironic that while Fanell was speaking in San Diego, just a few miles to the north, Japanese Ground Self Defense Force troops were storming the beaches of the US Marine Corps base at Camp Pendleton. They were part of a newly constituted force of soldiers trained in amphibious landing techniques to potentially recapture Japanese islands seized by the Chinese, presumably in a “short, sharp war.”

http://www.asiasentinel.com/politics/us-navy-muzzles-china-critic/

“As a senior US government official recently stated, there is growing concern that China’s pattern of behaviour in the South China Sea reflects an incremental effort by China to assert control of the area contained in the so-called ‘nine-dash line,’ despite the objections of its neighbors and despite the lack of any explanation or apparent basis under international law,” Capt. Fannell said.

Mathematician-Apologist Leonhard Euler

Mathematician-Apologist Leonhard Euler Voltaire and Frederick the Great mocked him; Catherine the Great of Russia employed him; Mathematicians revere him. His name was Leonhard Euler. The son of a Protestant minister, Euler was born on this day, April 15, 1707, in Basel, Switzerland.

Euler showed early promise in math, a promise that was amply fulfilled. Gathered together, his works fill sixty encyclopedia-size volumes! He was a founder of analysis and made major advances in arithmetic, geometry, trigonometry and calculus. His symbols are used to this day. The Euler constant, Euler numbers, Eulerian integrals and other mathematical forms are named for him.
Euler almost didn't make it into math. His father wanted him to be a minister. But Euler knew what he was best at and pleaded to be allowed to switch courses. His father finally agreed. Euler remained a staunch Calvinist all his life.

Catherine I invited the young man to Russia. She promised him a teaching job at the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg. But she died before the job was given to him and Euler's circumstances forced him to consider taking a position in the Russian navy. Fortunately the Academy came through and Euler's brilliance was not lost at sea. He married and had a family. Friends were astonished at the way he could produce high-caliber work with squirming children on his lap and shoulders.

Frederick the Great invited the now-renowned mathematician to Prussia. But Frederick and Voltaire, both of whom hated Christianity, mocked Euler for his "simple" beliefs. In spite of their nastiness, Euler published Letters to a German Princess, a book combining science and faith and written for his pupil, Frederick's niece. Translated into seven languages, it was widely read throughout Europe. Despite the luster that Euler lent to the Berlin Academy, Frederick turned against him. Euler returned to Russia.

Disasters now stalked him. His house burned. Fortunately his papers were saved. His wife died. He had lost sight in one eye solving a problem in three days which most mathematicians expected to take a month. Now a cataract formed on his other eye. Surgery restored his sight, but both eyes became infected and he was in such excruciating pain that he said only his faith in God enabled him to bear it. When the infection cleared, he was totally blind.

Then, in one of the greatest achievements of all time, he solved some of the most difficult problems of all mathematics on the blackboard of his mind, dictating the solutions to friends. Euler remains one of the greatest geniuses mathematics has ever known.

PARIS — Half-animal, half-human? The astounding developments in nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and cognitive science (NBIC) are posing problems that we thought only existed in science fiction.

Recent studies have brought us closer to Planet of the Apes, written by French novelist Pierre Boulle in 1963. In three experiments, the last one of which was published in Current Biology last month, scientists have improved the intellectual capacities of mice by modifying their DNA sequences with segments of human chromosomes or by injecting them with human brain glial cells.

These modified animals have bigger brains and can perform difficult tasks more quickly. The DNA sequences that were successfully modified are involved in language and brain size in humans. This comes after a study on successful genetic modifications on two small monkeys was published in Nature in March of last year. Meaning that the success of cognitive improvement of mice will soon be verified in monkeys.

These manipulations were achieved with DNA-modifying enzymes. For about $12, a biology student these days can create these enzymes and conduct genetic engineering, making it incredibly cheap to create animal-man chimeras. Decade after decade, new findings and experiments will have breathtaking consequences.

How will we prevent some animal lovers from ordering a more intelligent, more emphatic, more "human" dog? There will always be room for indulgence in relation to cognitive enhancement of animals. Society will be presented with a fait accompli, as it is now with same-sex couples buying children from surrogate mothers in foreign countries.

The Flame of Avvakum's Genius

The Flame of Avvakum's Genius Archpriest Avvakum was appalled. The Russian Orthodox church had an overbearing new Patriarch, Nikon. This zealot wanted to incorporate into the liturgy changes borrowed from the Roman church. As Avvakum and many others saw it, these changes threatened the purity of the old faith. Their protests were met with appalling cruelty. Tsarevna Sof'ya decreed that Old Believers were to be tortured. Any who remained "obstinate" were to be burnt to death.

Avvakum became spokesman for the Old Believers. Fortunately for Russia, he was not immediately sentenced to death, but instead chained, imprisoned, beaten, spat upon and exiled to Siberia. He and his family survived by eating offal that wolves had rejected. Two of his sons died under these wretched conditions. Forced to join an expedition to Amur under a brutal leader, Avvakum spoke out against the cruelty. For this, he was flogged and chained to a barge overnight in a cold, autumn downpour. Then the faithful witness was thrown naked into a cell, "but God kept me warm without clothes!" he reported.

What use was his protest against the liturgical changes? he wondered. The new formulas spread no matter what he said. He asked his wife if he should continue to speak or hold his peace. "You have tied me down," he said, thinking of her sufferings and those of his children.

"Lord have mercy, what are you saying Petrovich?" the good woman replied. "I and the children bless you: dare to preach God's word as heretofore and do not feel anxious about us; so long as God wills it, we shall live together, and if we are parted, remember us in your prayers. Christ will not abandon us!" Shaking off his temporary "blindness of discouragement," Avvakum renewed his preaching.
For all her faith, his wife could not help asking her husband once, "How long will this suffering last, Archpriest ?" Till death, he answered. Sighing she said, "So be it, Petrovich; let us trudge on."

Trudge on Avvakum did. Imprisoned, he wrote hundreds of pages of doctrine. He also produced an autobiography. Written in a zestful, contemporary Russian, it is considered a milestone of the language much as Pascal's Provincial Letters are for French and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales for English. Its concise immediacy was unsurpassed until Tolstoy. Friendly jailers winked as Avvakum's well-wishers smuggled out his tracts and the text of the autobiography.

Thousands of the Old Believers were executed. Avvakum's turn came on this day April 14, 1682. At Tsar Theodore's order, he and his fellow prisoners were locked in a log cabin and burned alive. Thus perished in flame a spiritual hero and literary genius whose remembrance endures to this day.

The Untold Holocaust (Assyrian Genocide)

Well made historical background on what happened 100 years ago when Ottoman Turk Muslims decided to eradicate a country, a people, and a church.  The atrocities described herein are quite horrific, but the truth of what our brothers and sisters in Christ suffered during those dark days....
This genocide was committed against the Assyrian population of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the First World War by the Young Turks. The Assyrian population of northern Mesopotamia was forcibly relocated and massacred by Ottoman (Turkish and Kurdish) forces between 1914 and 1920. This genocide is part of the same policy of extermination aimed against Armenians and Pontic Greeks.

Edict of Nantes Relieved Huguenots

Edict of Nantes Relieved Huguenots Is it possible for a nation to remain peaceful and united with more than one variation of Christianity in the country? To many in the sixteenth century the answer was a resounding NO. There had been one church throughout the middle ages, and the toleration of any other religion seemed unthinkable. Both before and after the Reformation, war had followed the rise of sects. As the ideas of the Protestant Reformation spread throughout Europe, governments as well as the church were affected as each adopted one form or another of faith. Most government leaders believed that allowing more than one sect would threaten the unity of a country.

This was the situation in sixteenth century France. For over sixty years the country had tried to find a political solution to the country's religious divisions. Persecutions, wars, and massacres disrupted the country as Catholics tried to maintain their majority faith while the Huguenots (as French Protestants were called) attempted to worship freely and even to seize power.

In 1572, backed by the king, Catholic forces used the royal wedding of the Huguenot Henry of Navarre--in line for the throne--as a pretext to rid the city of the Protestants that they detested. During the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre that resulted, 10,000 or more Protestants were butchered in Paris and similar massacres followed throughout the provinces. The pope had a medal stamped to honor the atrocity.

France's internal wars intensified after the Massacre; kings were assassinated; and finally Henry of Navarre himself succeeded to the throne. The Catholics of France, who were in the majority, absolutely refused to be ruled by a Huguenot. In order to bring peace to France, Henry adopted the Catholic faith. "Paris is worth a mass," he is reported to have said.

He did not forget his Huguenot roots, however. On this date, April 13 1598, Henry issued the Edict of Nantes, legally recognizing the Protestants. Huguenots were allowed to worship privately anywhere in France and were allowed public worship in specific places. In many ways the edict was unworkable, for it allowed the Huguenots political and military control of parts of the country, making them almost a nation within a nation. The Huguenots also gained complete civil liberties. Under the Edict of Nantes, the Protestants enjoyed religious freedom and prospered in France for a time. However, piece by piece the Catholic majority chipped away at the agreement's promises until finally, over eighty years later, King Louis XIV revoked the Edict altogether, again trying to establish one religion for his country.

Even after it was revoked, the Edict of Nantes remained an important memorial to freedom of conscience and religious liberty.

Cancers and other diseases caused by EMF radiation from cell phones, mandatory smart meters will not be covered by insurance

insurance

(NaturalNews) According to the site stopsmartmeters.org, thousands of people have complained of tinnitus, headaches, nausea, sleeplessness, heart arrhythmia, and other symptoms after a 'smart' meter was installed. The ongoing research results and evidence of the health hazards of wireless technology is growing right alongside the staggering increase of use of these devices. Smart meters are being installed all around the world and can exceed the already high FCC limits on human exposure to microwave radiation and are not optional even in homes of people who have "electro-sensitivity". There have been some concerns whether 'smart' meters may cause interference with pacemakers and other implants.

Attorney Jimmy Gonzalez gives testimony in October 2012 to the Pembroke Pines Florida Commission asking them to petition the City to issue a Resolution raising awareness of the health risks of cell phone radiation. He warns others about cell phone use and the connection of usage to his three fatal tumors. He spent the last of his energy and passion lobbying for these issues. Hallelujah! Handel's Masterpiece

One of the greatest pieces of Christian music ever written, by anyone, at any time in history.  If you haven't heard it, please take the time to check it out.  Stunningly beautiful and exceptionally well-written, using scripture in every piece.
Hallelujah! Handel's Masterpiece At twelve noon, on this date, April 13, 1742, the world first heard the lovely overture, memorable arias and majestic choruses of the most famous oratorio ever written. There has not been a year since then that George Frederick Handel's Messiah has not been performed in concert halls around the world. Usually it appears in numerous halls.

The performance took place in Dublin, in the Fishamble Street Musick Hall. Dubliners received it with enthusiasm. "...the best judges allowed it to be the most finished piece of music," wrote the Dublin Gazette. "Words are wanting to express the exquisite delight it afforded..." Two performances were given. Two years later, annual performances were established in Dublin. London did not receive the oratorio as readily. Criticized, it did not catch on there until 1749.

Handel had turned to oratorios, most of them on religious themes, after opera failed him. Messiah was special even within its genre. The composer deliberately wrote it so that it could be performed by as few as four singers with strings, continuo, two drums and two trumpets. The idea was to produce a work which could be staged anywhere. Handel was often near destitution, and a piece like Messiah, which could be performed by small ensembles, offered him opportunities to raise desperately needed cash.

The text, by Charles Jennens, pulled together fragments of scripture relating to Christ. The power of the scriptures came by laying them forth almost as translated (he used more than one translation where it suited his purpose) and joining them so that they built on and clarified one another without comment. Old and New Testament passages were placed beside each other where a relationship existed. Where Jennens modified passages, he did so to make them scan better and to keep the texts in the third tense throughout. Handel, although a rough-tongued man, claimed to know the Bible as well as any bishop and made a few alterations himself. Jennens, a devout Anglican, intended through his libretto to challenge the Deists who denied Christ's divinity: "And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."

He succeeded in his intent, for Messiah portrays Christ as Son of God, the fulfillment of prophecy, Savior of the world, and coming King. John Newton, slaver turned clergyman, preached fifty sermons on the text. Although Newton preached his series as a rebuke to those who glorified the music above God's word, he said that it comprehended all the principle truths of the Gospel. That Jennens fused the words together without once backtracking or repeating a passage demonstrates the perfectionism which made him a fussy person.

Handel united the whole into a magnificent artwork, writing the work in twenty-three fervent days, despite having already suffered a stroke. The music often rises to great loveliness and power. Passion builds until the climactic Hallelujah chorus. Of this chorus, Handel said in his broken English, "I did think I did see all heaven before me and the great God himself!"

Twenty Years Later: Facts About the OKC Bombing That Go Unreported

Next week will mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, which killed 168 people including 19 children. The mainstream media will undoubtedly focus its attention on Timothy McVeigh, who was put to death in June 2001 for his part in the crime. They might also mention Terry Nichols, who was convicted of helping McVeigh plan the bombing and is serving a life sentence without parole.
OKC MurrahThere will be less discussion about how the FBI spent years hunting for a man who witnesses say accompanied McVeigh on the day of the bombing. They called this accomplice John Doe #2 and theories about his identity range from an Iraqi named Hussain Al-Hussaini, to a German national described below, to a neo-nazi bank robber named Richard Guthrie. The Justice Department finally gave up its search and said it was all a mistake— that there was never any credible evidence of a John Doe #2 being involved.
That reversal demonstrates a pattern of cover-up by authorities and limited media coverage in the years since the crime. This week, accounts will not repeat early reports of secondary devices in the building, or reports of the involvement of unknown middle-eastern characters. There will also be little if any mention of the extensive independent investigation into the crime that was conducted by leading members of the OKC community. Here are seven more facts that will probably not see much coverage on the 20th anniversary.
  1. Attorney Jesse Trentadue began investigating the case after his brother Kenney was killed in prison, apparently having been tortured to death by the FBI in its search for John Doe #2. Trentadue’s investigation led to a federal judge nearly finding the FBI in contempt of court for tampering with a key witness. Trentadue now says, “There’s no doubt in my mind, and it’s proven beyond any doubt, that the FBI knew that the bombing was going to take place months before it happened, and they didn’t stop it.”
  1. Judge Clark Waddoups, who presided over the case brought by Jesse Trentadue, ruled in 2010 that CIA documents associated with the case must be held secret. These documents show that the CIA was involved in the OKC bombing investigation and the prosecution of McVeigh. This means that foreign parties were involved because the CIA is prohibited from interfering in purely domestic investigations.
  1. Andreas Strassmeir, a former German military officer, was suspected of being John Doe #2. Strassmeir became close friends with McVeigh and they were both associated with a neo-nazi organization located in Elohim City, OK. A retired U.S. intelligence official claimed that Strassmeir was “working for the German government and the FBI” while at Elohim City. Mainstream reports about the OKC bombing typically avoid reference to Strassmeir.

Paul the Deacon Became History

Paul the Deacon Became History Historians owe a lot to Paul the Deacon. Born into a noble Lombard family, Paul was given the best possible education for that largely unschooled day. He became a monk and used his learning to record the history and myths of his people, the Lombards. His book was one of the first German histories authored by a German, although even then it was written in Latin, the language of scholarship. Since most of its sources have vanished, our knowledge would be poorer without it. It was copied and recopied into the fifteenth century.

Early in his life, Paul's skill as a writer caused a duchess to ask him to expand Eutropius' History of Rome. Paul added six books to it and this was widely copied during the Middle Ages.
Later his pen may have helped win the release of his brother, who was held captive for his part in an uprising. Paul wrote an elegy to mollify Charlemagne's anger. When this did not seem to work, he traveled North to Charlemagne's court. The great king employed Paul for four years and freed his brother.

Charlemagne made it his policy to encourage Christian learning. He saw Christianity as the glue to bind his empire together. Paul compiled a history of the bishops of Metz in which he declared Charlemagne was a relative of the popular and holy Bishop Arnulf, who had lived a century and a half earlier. This served to legitimize the king and strengthen his ties with popular Christianity.
Paul also revised a compilation of sermons of the Church Fathers. This book remained popular for centuries. So did his commentary on the rule of St. Benedict.
Paul died on this day, April 13, 799.

Many of his epitaphs, letters and poems have survived. Here is how he describes an attack on Italy: "Presently, resenting some aggressions of the exarch of Ravenna, King Agilulf straightway marched out of Pavia with a great army and attacked the city of Perugia, and there for some days he besieged Maurisio, the duke of the Lombards who had gone over to the Romans, and speedily took him and slew him. The blessed Pope Gregory was so sorely alarmed at the approach of this king that he ceased from his commentary upon the temple mentioned in Ezekiel, as he himself declares in his homilies. King Agilulf then, when matters were settled, returned to Pavia, and not long afterward, upon the special instigation of his wife, Queen Theudelinda--since the blessed Pope Gregory had frequently so admonished her in his letters--he concluded a firm peace with the same most holy Pope Gregory and with the Romans..."

The Armenian Journey - A Story Of An Armenian Genocide 1915 GenocidalTurks

This finally hit mainstream news today after the Pope declared the Armenian Genocide the first of the 20th century.  This was largely due to the fact that Armenia was a Christian nation living in the confines of a dying Ottoman (Turkish) empire.  These days between the 12th and 15th of April are generally recognized as the beginning of the slaughter, and I shall do my best to remember our brothers and sisters in Christ who perished at the hands of the Turks while the world watched and did nothing 100 years ago.

Perhaps what is more shocking is that Turkey still denies it to this day, and because the U.S. needs Turkey to continue to supply ISIS and their attempted overthrow of Syria in the Middle East, the U.S.also refuses to acknowledge what an entire nation of Christians suffered.

The Armenian Journey - A Story Of an Armenian Genocide /Documentary Film /"The Armenian Journey: From Despair to Hope in Rhode Island," a film by The Genocide Education Project (GenEd), tells the story of Armenian Genocide survivor Margaret Garabedian Der Manuelian, told through the narrative voice of her great-granddaughter, 21 year old Dalita Getzoyan. The film was funded by a grant from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and designed to support educators in the region and beyond.

DARPA’s Current Projects Include Brain Implants For Soldiers, Robots That Eat Plants For Fuel, Remote Controlled Bugs That Spy…

by

 bioenhance

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) works on some very outlandish projects. One of its stated mission goals is to cause “technological surprise” for America’s enemies. Basically, they want enemy fighters to get to the battlefield, look at what they’re facing off against, and go, “What the heck?” […]

4. Robots that gather intel and eat plants for fuel –The unmanned ground vehicle programs at DARPA want a UGV that could conduct reconnaissance indefinitely without needing to be refueled. The Energy Autonomous Tactical Robot will do that by eating plants and converting them to energy. It would also be able to steal enemy fuel when necessary. 5. Remote-controlled bugs that spy on the bad guys

ON THE PATH OF THE IMMORTALS–PART 7: Secret Canyon’s Underground Base. Home Of The Fiery Flying Seraph?

by

There have been rumors about an underground base near Sedona for decades. The locals have many interesting stories. For example, Hoss told me about a winged tubular spaceship seen flying over Sedona by many witnesses. He described it as larger than conventional aircraft, moving absolutely silently at high velocity. He said that eventually so many people reported it, that the government finally admitted that it was a NASA spaceship designed to replace the Space Shuttle. Of course this begs the question of where it was flying from and where it landed. Our stout guide confirmed his belief in an underground base and pointed out how primordial volcanic lava tubes already provide convenient underground access to the canyons. After hearing about the tunnels, rumors of an underground base in Secret Canyon were beginning to seem more probable.

While the existence of a base is nearly uncontroversial with locals, conspiracy lore entails rival alien bases in addition to the defense department facility. One witness who happened upon the base by accident was “accosted at gunpoint by a soldier wearing United Nations insignia.”[1] We might have captured evidence of other top secret aircraft without even realizing it at the time.

Shelley Putnam captured this triangle UFO as it flew by in the distance. The pine tree offers perspective and the sharp triangle shape appears like a three dimensional object in the distance would, if it were heading toward Secret Canyon. Arizona is famous for the Phoenix Lights case involving an enormous triangle that flew over that major city. Like that craft, this one also flew silently. In fact, we didn’t notice it in the image until we returned home to analyze the photos. The tree gives some scale and implies a large three dimensional object some distance away.

Daniel Wright, the graphic artist who does our book covers, did some Photoshop analysis below:

Wright says about the image above: “I did a force enlargement and then attempted a simple recreation of what I saw in the photograph on 3 layers (top) main points of light small (left) bars of connected light (right) soft general glows. I figured by enlarging and sort of ‘mapping’ the main patterns of light I could help identify [what the shape is].”[2] We also sent the photo to Stan Deyo.
Image enhanced by Stan Deyo

Deyo offered, “I performed a number of analyses of this photo. As you can see there are two possibly three dark spots along the near edge of the craft. The far edge lights are all illuminated while the near edge is partially illuminated. If the illumination is a function of propulsion then perhaps the craft was turning so one side was more illuminated than the other. The dark circular spots may indicate that the bright lights are generated between two poles… possibly.”[3]

We are not suggesting this is an extraterrestrial craft but rather the more humble claim that it remains unidentified and is appropriately dubbed a UFO. Admittedly, most black triangle UFO Sightings reported to MUFON are closed and marked “identified.” When so ruled, they are almost always terrestrial aircraft of some sort. Either way, our triangle craft may support the presence of a secret underground base in the fortuitously christened Secret Canyon. Our triangle might even be something exotic like the classified TR-3B antigravity spacecraft.[4] Most likely there are more than a few skunk works craft being tested over the desert. One can watch a triangle being escorted by planes on YouTube at the footnote here:[5] While talk of underground bases often suggests an aluminum foil milliner marketing ploy, fantastic stories are nothing new to Sedona.

20th Prison Anniversary for Watchman Nee

20th Prison Anniversary for Watchman Nee Among China's millions of Christians, none has been as well known to the West as Watchman Nee. Many of his books, such as The Normal Christian Life and Sit, Walk, Stand, reached Western shores and were printed in English where they were well-received.

Communist China has been hostile to Christian believers. Efforts are made to herd all Christians into a few state-controlled churches. Watchman Nee's fearless witness angered the party, which denounced him and his church. He was accused of exercising "a dark, mysterious control" over 470 supposedly independent churches. Nee could see the writing on the wall.

Rather than bemoan the fate he saw approaching, he worked night and day to dictate to assistants all that Christ had taught him. For days on end, he went with only two hours of sleep. The words they wrote down described the glory of God, the power of Christ's resurrection, the proofs of God's existence, and Christ's righteousness for believers.

He was arrested in 1952. With fierce brainwashing and honeyed promises, the Communists tried to break his fidelity to Christ. His captors promised him that if he would lead the faithful into the Three Self Patriotic Movement (the Communist-controlled church) he would be freed. Nee refused.
For four years believers did not know where he was. Then in 1956 he was given a hearing in Shanghai and accused of numerous severe crimes. To each charge he was allowed to answer only Yes or No. He stood silent for all but two: sabotage and spying. Those he denied. The Court of Public Security recommended severity. A few days later he was publicly accused and "proofs" presented. Among the allegations was that, at a time when Mao was bringing in a bright new socialist future, Nee had demoralized people by preaching that mankind is in the last days.

At the end of the hearing, Nee was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment with reform by labor. He was placed in the First Municipal Prison, where he had to labor in a factory eight hours a day, attend re-education another eight, and was allowed to rest the final eight. Loud speakers blared continuous propaganda. The prisoners were fed so little, their ribs protruded. He was permitted to send only one heavily-censored letter a month. Later he was employed translating English articles into Chinese for the government. Released convicts reported that he refused to buckle to the Communists, but instead sang hymns in his cell. Apparently he also refused an opportunity to be ransomed to the West.

On this day, April 12, 1972 Nee completed twenty years in prison, five years more than his maximum sentence. Ten days later he wrote in good spirits to his sister, possibly from a country prison. Within weeks he was dead.

'The Blob' In Pacific Ocean Might Be to Blame for California Drought

Not sure about the scientific speculation in this video, but pretty sure something really big is wrong, and it's coming to the west coast of the U.S....Fukushima perhaps?

Coined "the blob,” a massive patch of warm water off the US West Coast is contributing to warmer-than-average drought conditions in states like California, in addition to lower temperatures on the US East Coast, according to two new reports.

The blob -- measuring about 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) in diameter and 300 feet (91 meters) deep -- is currently positioned against the West Coast. It is about 2 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit (1 to 4 degrees Celsius) above normal average temperature. Climate scientist Nick Bond was first to call the warm weather anomaly "the blob" nearly a year ago.

"In the fall of 2013 and early 2014 we started to notice a big, almost circular mass of water that just didn't cool off as much as it usually did, so by spring of 2014 it was warmer than we had ever seen it for that time of year," said Nick Bond of the University of Washington-based Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean, a joint research center of the school and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Bond's new study, which is set to appear in Geophysical Research Letters, found that the blob formed due to a lasting high-pressure ridge that maintained heat levels in the water rather than the usual low-pressure system that helps cool the ocean. The air continued inland, delivering high temperatures and contributing to deeper drought conditions in California, Oregon and Washington.

Final Assault on Japan's Rebel Fortress

Final Assault on Japan's Rebel Fortress Would you revolt over eggplant? In November 1637, Japanese peasants of the Shimabara peninsula and the Amakusa islands revolted. Afterwards, a commission looked into the events and concluded that the rebellion occurred because the Prince of Karatsu was more tyrannical than most. In addition to the usual taxes, he added surcharges on the poor farmers which included the best tobacco leaves and numbers of eggplant. To this unbearable tax burden, he added cruelty and torture, especially of Christians and their leaders and evangelists.

Because of the isolated situation of the peninsula and the Amakusa islands, Christianity made greater headway there than in the rest of Japan. The new Christians, with more zeal than understanding, were filled with Messianic hope. Many joined the rebellion. It proved costly to the future of Christian faith in the islands of the rising sun.

The lords of Nagasaki, who had recently departed for Edo (Tokyo) rushed back to defend the city. In December, a force of 3,000 men stormed Amakusa; all but 200 died in the offensive. During the fight, Christians waved banners and shouted the names of Jesus and Mary. Afterwards, they tore down Japanese religious symbols and raised Christian ones in their place. The invocation of Jesus and Mary did not bring victory in the next battle, however.

A thousand Amakusa survivors fled to join 35,000 rebels in Shimabara. The rebels assaulted the principle government fortress and almost captured it. Having failed, they holed up in the Hara fortress where they were led by Masuda Shiro, a brilliant young strategist whose age is variously estimated between fifteen and nineteen, and who went by the Christian name Jerome (sometimes given as Jeronimo). Aided by severe cold, they inflicted major defeats on the government forces. In one night sally alone, they killed 2,000 of the government's 100,000 troops. Despite its cannon, the government could not dislodge the rebels and lost over 8,000 men in January and February while the rebels lost hardly a soul. Japan asked a Dutch ship to shell the Hara Fortress, which it did, but with little effect, except to lose two of their own men to rebel sharpshooters.

But the end was inevitable. Having held out for four months, the rebels ran low on food. Deserters reported this to the government. Encouraged by the news, government forces began an all-out assault on the fortress on this day, April 12, 1638. It took them three days to overcome the desperate peasants and their Christian allies. Afterward, Christianity was strictly banned from Japan as a troublesome religion.
